RYERSEN, Jack Passed away on August 20, 2000 in Santa Rosa. Survived by his wife Margaret Muzzy Ryersen; children Linda Adams, Barbara Ryersen and John Ryersen; son-in-law Stephan Adams; grandchildren Lindsay, Coulter and Madison. Born in Chicago July 30, 1925, Jack lived in Santa Rosa from the age of twelve, graduating from Santa Rosa High School in 1943 before serving in the Navy in World War II. Jack received both his B.A. and L.L.B. from Stanford University before moving back to Sonoma County where he practiced law from 1951 to 1994. Among his many volunteer activities, Jack helped found the Sonoma County Legal Aid. Jack was a member of the Santa Rosa City Council from 1958-1970, serving as mayor in 1959, 1963, and 1969. During this time he was a Director of the League of California Cities from 1960-1970, being elected President of the League in 1968. Friends are invited to a reception at the Ryersen family home from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday August 24th.
