Hunter Brooke “Pete” Clyde Jr., a former resident of Santa Rosa passed away Thursday, September 29th, 2016 at his home in Incline Village, NV with his loving wife by his side. He was 81.
Pete was born in San Francisco on August 9th 1935, to the late Hunter Brooke and Elsiedale Peters Clyde. He graduated from Pomona College in 1957 with a degree in Political Science.
He married Jean Forsyth (Schulz) and they moved to Honolulu where he was a journalist for the Honolulu Star Bulletin. They had their children Brooke and Lisa and then moved back to Santa Rosa. After their divorce, Pete met his beloved wife, Nancy Johns of Carlisle, PA. They married in 1974.
In 1981, they welcomed their son Marshall and decided to make their home in Incline Village. He loved calling Incline Village his home for the last 35 years.
Pete is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Nancy Clyde; his son, Hunter “Brooke” Clyde III and his wife Ruth of Santa Rosa; his daughter, Elizabeth “Lisa” Clyde-Garcia and her wife Elsa of Sebastopol; his son, Dr. Marshall Clyde and his wife Elizabeth of Bloomington, MN; his step-daughter Hillary Schauss and her husband Mark of Reno; his sister, Elsiedale “Dale” Peterson and her husband Kent of Cupertino; eight grandchildren; two nieces; his faithful dog Schuyler; and many other relatives.
