Edward J. Healey, a native of Santa Rosa passed away at 89 years old on October 26, 2004 in a local hospital due to natural causes.
Edward was born on December 13, 1914. A graduate of Santa Rosa High School class of 1933. Edward also attended Santa Rosa Junior College and University of Oregon where he received his Bachelor Degree in 1937. He was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.
Edward was very active in the local community. Co-founder of the Folded Hills Ranch, Lifetime Member of the Wild Oak Saddle Club and member of Wednesday Riders, 50 year member of the Sonoma County Trailer Blazers and member of the Empire Breakfast Club, life member of the American Legion, Theodore Roosevelt Post 21. Edward was a past member of the Active 20-30 Club of Santa Rosa #50, Santa Rosa Country Club, Humane Society where he was a board member, Past President of the Downtown Development Association and member of the Frontier Boys.
As an Army Veteran, he served in World War II. Edward, with his father Eugene, owned and operated for more than 70 years the Healey Shoe Company.
Edward was preceded in death by his wife Elaine Healey, to whom he was married 51 years. He is survived by his daughter Adrienne Hotchkiss and her husband Bruce of Incline Village, NV; sons Edward Peterson and his wife Barbara of Piedmont, CA and Jerrold Peterson of Palm Springs, CA; grandchildren Carolyn Baxter, Ted and Steve Peterson and Cathy Getty, 10 great grandchildren.
Services will held at EGGEN & LANCE MORTUARY, 1540 Mendocino Ave., Santa Rosa, CA on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be at EGGEN & LANCE on Friday from 2:00-5:00pm and Saturday from 9:00-11:00am. Donations can be made to the Humane Society of Sonoma County, P.O.
