Dave M Jones-Landry of Santa Rosa, passed away August 11, 2015 at the age of 42, after battling endocarditis due to a valve replacement surgery in March 2015.
He was born July 14, 1973 in Santa Rosa, the son of Jim and Lela Jones.
He attended El Molino High School (1991), Sonoma State University where he graduated with a degree in English Literature in 2001 and Lewis & Clark Law School where he graduated with a juris doctorate in 2004.
Dave was a practicing attorney in Santa Rosa and was a member of the Sonoma County Bar Association and the Richard M. Sangster Inns of Court.
Dave was active in his community serving underprivileged children and was a member of the Active 20-30 Club of Santa Rosa #50. As a member of the Active 20-30 Club, Dave served as President in Spring 2012 and, upon aging out at 40, was awarded the status of Past Active Member in recognition of his contributions to helping children in Sonoma County. The annual DJL Memorial Kid’s Fishing Trip that the Active 20-30 club puts on is named in his honor.
Dave also served as a board member for the Kid’s Street Learning Center and was selected to be in the Press Democrat Leadership Forum.
Dave is survived by his spouse, Elise Jones-Landry; his young daughters, Farah (5) and Daisy (3); and his brothers, Andy and Cris Jones. He is also survived by his close friends, his friends in Active 20-30 International, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
