Alfred L. Andrews Alfred L. Andrews, manager of Santa Rosa Memorial Park for more than 45 years, died at his home in Santa Rosa on Sunday, the eve of Memorial Day.
Andrews was 82.
Born and reared in Alexander Valley, Andrews was a lifelong resident of Sonoma County. He was an employee of Union Oil and manager of a Western Auto Store before taking over as secretary of the Odd Fellows Cemetery Association in the early 1950s. He retired in 1987.
Andrews was a longtime member of Santa Rosa Lions Club and Odd Fellows Lodge No. 53 and was a 60-year member of First Presbyterian Church.
His death Sunday followed a long illness.
Surviving are his wife, Lauuna Andrews of Santa Rosa; sons, Donald Andrews of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Robert Andrews of Santa Rosa, stepson Marvin DuRocher of Sutter Creek and four grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Dodds and Ruth Simonini, both of Santa Rosa, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, followed by entombment
