Over the years the 20-30 Club has helped support many youth causes and programs in the community. Such groups as the Boy Scouts, The Santa Rosa Boys and Girls Clubs, Social Advocates for Youth, The Battered Women’s Shelter, Kids’ Street Theater, River Community Services, Valley of the Moon Children’s Home, Junior Olympics, The Volunteer Center of Sonoma County, Challenger Little League, “R” House, Junior Achievement, Central Santa Rosa Youth Soccer, Friday Night Live, Tomorrow’s Leaders Today, Children’s Village, Elsie Allen Project Grad and The Ronald McDonald House all benefit from the 20-30 Club’s fundraising work.
The Active 20-30 Club of Santa Rosa (Club #50) will be hosting the Third Annual Great Escape Suitcase Party on Friday November 7th. The Club will be partnering with the Valley of the Moon Children's Center (VMCC) in Santa Rosa, which provides supportive and educational services for the abandoned, neglected and abused children of Sonoma County.
The Great Escape fundraiser is a unique event that invites guests to enjoy a night of cocktails, gourmet food, dancing, and exclusive auction items. The event will take place at the Sonoma Jet Center in Santa Rosa. Attendees will have the opportunity to win an elite getaway for two with the winners hopping on a private jet that night to enjoy a VIP weekend in Las Vegas, complete with 5-star hotel accommodations, and cash to enjoy the destination.
Half of the funds raised from this year's Great Escape event will go to the Valley of the Moon Children's Center dental program. "It ensures that our community's most vulnerable children receive dental care in an environment that recognizes their special circumstances," explains VMCC Community Program Manager Meg Easter-Dawson.
The other half of the funds raised will go into the 20-30 club's Youth Benevolent Fund, a reserve of money that is dispersed to charities and youth programs throughout Santa Rosa. All of the 20-30 club's efforts are donated, allowing 100% of the funds raised to go to local children.
Donations from local dentists allow dental care at VMCC...
A very special thank you to all who contributed to the success of this year's shopping spree. In partnership with Club #1029, our members were able to provide school supplies, clothing, haircuts and dental checkups to nearly 200 of our community's children.

Not without a few snafus (including power outages, cooking on griddles and having eager munchers waiting for samples while preparing competition ‘wiches), the chefs persevered. Judging the sandwiches on merits including creativity, presentation and of course, flavor, the all-star panel of Chef John Ash, restaurant consultant and foodist Clark Wolf, the Bohemian’s Gabe Meline, sandwich restaurateur Ike Shehadeh and food personality Laurie Figone ate and graded for more than an hour.
Said Wolf, “Twenty one out of twenty one of these sandwiches were incredible.” BiteClub concurred, snagging...
